Scope and Legal Safety: Individual therapy services are not intended to provide emergency or crisis care. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, are at risk of harming yourself or others, or require immediate support, please contact emergency services right away.
In Ontario, you can call 911 for emergencies. You may also contact local crisis support services or go to your nearest emergency department. If you are in immediate danger, do not wait for a scheduled therapy session or message response.
What to Expect
My approach to individual therapy is collaborative, emotionally focused, and culturally responsive. I integrate evidence based strategies to support emotional awareness, practical coping skills, and long-term growth.
I prioritize creating a space where clients feel seen, respected, and understood, with attention to how culture, family background, and lived experience shape emotional well-being and identity.
For teens and young adults, therapy often includes support around:
Peer relationships and social stress
Family dynamics and communication
Identity development and self-confidence
Emotional regulation and coping skills
Academic and life pressures
Family Therapy
Family relationships are shaped by culture, values, lived experiences, and the broader systems families move through. When stress, conflict, or change arises, these layers can make family dynamics feel especially complex.
I offer culturally informed, systems-based family therapy that supports families in strengthening communication, increasing understanding, and working toward healthier relational patterns. My approach recognizes that family roles, expectations, and expressions of emotion are often influenced by cultural identity, intergenerational experiences, and social context.
Family therapy sessions may include parents, caregivers, or children/teens (12 +), depending on the goals of therapy. Together, we focus on understanding how each family member’s experiences intersect within the family system, while building practical skills for communication, emotional regulation, and connection.
I commonly support families with:
Parent–child and parent–teen relationship challenges
Communication breakdowns and recurring conflict
Navigating cultural expectations, intergenerational differences, and identity development
Family stress related to life transitions (school changes, separation, blended families)
Supporting a child or teen experiencing anxiety, depression, or social stress
Family therapy may be offered as short-term, goal-focused support or alongside individual therapy for a child or teen.
Scope and Legal Safety
Family therapy is offered within my professional scope of practice and informed by systems-based and culturally responsive care. Services do not include court-related assessments or involvement in active legal matters. Referrals are provided when specialized
services are required.
Scope and Legal Safety
For couples therapy to be effective and safe, certain conditions need to be in place. Couples therapy may not be appropriate when there is active physical violence in the relationship or when significant information is being intentionally withheld.
Couples therapy services are provided within my professional scope of practice and are not intended for court-related assessments, custody matters, or involvement in active legal proceedings. In these cases, I will support clients in exploring alternative options and referrals
that better meet their needs.
Couples Therapy
Relationships can feel challenging when communication breaks down, emotions run high, or partners feel disconnected or misunderstood. Couples therapy offers a supportive space to slow
things down, strengthen emotional understanding, and work toward healthier patterns of connection.
My approach to couples therapy is emotion-focused and skills-informed, drawing from Gottman-based principles and attachment-oriented frameworks. Together, we focus on
understanding emotional needs, improving communication, and identifying interaction patterns that may be keeping couples stuck.
Couples therapy may support partners who are experiencing:
Communication difficulties and recurring conflict
Emotional distance or disconnection
Difficulty navigating stress, life transitions, or changing roles
Challenges with trust, expectations, or boundaries
A desire to strengthen their relationship and build healthier patterns early on
Sessions emphasize emotional awareness, mutual understanding, and practical tools couples can apply outside of therapy.
Psychotherapy & Counselling
Email, voicemail, and online messaging are not monitored continuously and should not be used
for urgent or emergency concerns. If you are in crisis, please use emergency services or local
crisis resources rather than waiting for a response.
